Make a video

From Strategic Planning

On the Street Movies

Spend an hour or two walking around your city and asking random people a few questions about Wikimedia. Ask open ended questions that encourage conversation rather than easy yes/no answers.

Some possible questions include:

  • What do you know about Wikipedia?
  • What do you use Wikipedia for? (or any of the other Wikimedia projects)
  • Why do you use it?
  • What do you like/not like about it?
  • Who writes Wikipedia?
  • What do you know about the Wikimedia Foundation? (or any of the chapters)

Post the video and share it with the world!

We discovered:
  1. It's easier to get people to talk if they're already "stopped" (that is, not walking down the street).
  2. Be ready for anything! Some of the answers will surprise you.
  3. Look for a diverse group of folks to answer.
  4. Dogs are always cute. They don't answer your questions though. :( -- Philippe 21:01, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
