Stephen King is the Investments Director at Omidyar Network. He believes that there is really strong potential for Wikipedia to expand its presence in the Middle East and North Africa. He believes that since Arabic has a standard written form that is comprehensible across the Arabic speaking world, Wikipedia could focus its efforts in a key country such as Egypt and the whole region could benefit. He thought there was a lot of potential in Egypt because of the large number of Internet users and the technology culture that has sprung up in and around the Internet cafés.
