Wikipedia is in the real world:"Administrators and long standing members of the community, having developed a high profile, can expect inverse surveillance. If passers-by and other editors mistake the recipient of your acts for a punching bag, they'll want to know why you're doing it. And to know why, they'll want to know who you are, even if the Wikipedia culture values privacy." This is as true of WikiMedia as it is of any WP editor or Admin. Most of the population you would like to add to the ranks of editors are not the least bit interested in holding political conclaves, or any other such thing, as they have real lives to live. This is exactly what makes them essential to your efforts. What they are interested in is achieving a maximum of results, in a minimum of time. While WikiMedia systems are widely admired for a rather audacious agenda, I think you have run into a problem of follow-up and execution, for which there are few "feel-good" options. Increasing scrutiny and expectations are mounting here, and pragmatic and effective answers to questions are needed all around. TheLastWordSword (talk) 17:07, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
