Opt-in?

Opt-in?

Since this wiki isn't very active any more, I think it would be wise to opt-in to global sysops. We (the SWMT) already watch the project on the #cvn-sw countervandalism channel on IRC. Thoughts?

Would local sysops lose their bits if we opted-in to the global sysops service? I'd still like to be able to do stuff here, and I doubt that I'd be eligible to be a global sysop.

Gopher65talk01:11, 11 January 2011

Oh yes, all local sysops would keep their bits. It has no bearing on that. :)

In that case I wouldn't be opposed to opting in. There seem to be several of us who keep a daily eye on this wiki (I check once before and once after work, personally), but more eyes can't hurt.

Obviously I don't speak for everyone though.

Gopher65talk02:08, 11 January 2011

I still hang around here :p

I definitely support allowing global sysops here. I try to check the wiki at least once a day for vandalism, but it never hurts to have help from trusted hands. Vandalism and spam pages haven't been cleaned up in a timely manner sometimes.

+1 for global sysops. We could use more eyes on this.

Any other comments?

Shall I go ahead and ask for this to be done on meta then?

Maximillion Pegasus23:14, 2 February 2011

Yup. It has been almost a month, and no one has voiced any objections.

Done.

Hey guys, I migrated to Meta from here like many others. My SUL doesn't seem to work for strategy wiki for some reason but I always check in once in a while. Thanks for enabling global sysops here, Dfreg.

Just a note, automatic login doesn't work for anyone here (it's not just you). You need to log in separately. I've always wondered why that can't be fixed, it's kind of annoying.

Tempodivalse [talk]16:09, 5 February 2011

hmm...maybe we should have filed a bug for that. Someone can still do that now.

Theo1001116:19, 5 February 2011

There are bugs about that. :)
