Welcome Back!

Hi Dedalus! Welcome back! Good to see you here again. Hope you're well.

Gerard Meijssen pointed me to Sue's letter to the board. So, I've been reading today, for example the 120 slide presentation. That presentation will take probably a full day to present to a group that has not yet been deeply involved in strategy/policy making for Wikimedia. A condensed, 15 to 20 slides, version could be helpful for one to two hour presentations for various groups in various meetings, for example at the global Chapters meeting this April in Germany or at Wikimania in July. Expect to see me at least one of these occasions.

Great, Dedalus. I'll be at both meetings.

The deck is meant to be browsed rather than presented. For presentation purposes, you're right, a much more condensed version is appropriate.

Helping with the next phase

Hi Dedalus,

Thank you for all of your contributions to the strategy wiki to date! The strategic planning process wouldn't be where it is today without all of your help. We've missed you, and we hope you're well.

We're about to move into the third and final phase of the process, and in many ways, this will be the most challenging. I'm hoping you will continue to be an active presence in shaping the movement's five year strategic plan.

Here are some concrete suggestions as to how you can help moving forward:

  • Take a look at Strategic Planning:Hosts. Your name is already there, but some of the text has changed, and we want to encourage people who listed themselves there to take a more active role.
  • Help organize and improve this wiki! Starting next week (January 18, 2010), we're going to be encouraging many more people to come participate, and we want to make sure this wiki is as presentable as possible. A comprehensive list of things to do is at Strategic Planning:To-do list.
  • Invite people to participate! Encourage volunteers to discuss Task force/Recommendations.
  • Finally, we need to clearly describe what this final phase is going to look like. In particular, we could use feedback and discussion on Strategic Planning:Decision-Making.

Let me know what you think! Many, many thanks!

Can you tell me what "gna" means? As in this edit? I'm curious because you fairly radically changed his comment (from "could" to "should not").

Just revert - Kozuch commented about editing in someones comment. I edited in his comment. gna is probably an onomatope if it is anything.

I'd rather you reverted, actually... I dont' like to revert things that are content changes; I prefer to revert only vandalism, stuff like that. :)

Pages are not automatically added to that category when liquid threads is enabled... They are added there when {{LiquidThreads}} is placed on the page. It's possible to enable liquid threads without that template. That's just the easy way. -- Philippe 17:59, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

me still looking for the #useliquidthreads documentation

Look long and hard. I did the same thing. Then I asked Werdna to write it ;)
