Hi Teles, I granted you sysop rights on strategy wiki, as per your request Process/Administrators/volunteers. Thanks for offering to help out, feel free to direct any queries to me.
Fala, Darwin! Pois é... tô por aqui, dando uma força no combate ao vandalismo. De vez em quando aqui fica meio agitado. E você? O que traz de novidade?
Hahaha. Se fosse você não perguntava xD Ruy Pugliesi◥ 18:59, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
Ad: Hi there, thank you. :)
The IP in question on Editor survey feedback is w:User:Sven70, who has been indeffed there for becoming increasingly incivil. He apparently writes in the shorthand he uses due to RSI.
Hi, Sonia! Thanks for your information. I didn't know about the RSI issue, but I could partially comprehend what was written. I was more concerned about the offensive part of his comments, which is not related with the way he writes and is unnacceptable on a respectful discussion. Anyway, I won't call it "gibberish" anymore. Have a nice day.
Yep, hence it was just an FYI and not a "Why are you being bigoted against the disabled!!!1111" ;)
And I do agree. That is exactly why he was blocked, because he was not able to rationally converse with other editors and thus exhausted the last of their patience. For what it's worth, I have RSI (although it is not debilitating), and see no reason for such shorthand to be necessary or more effective than your standard "txt talk" or whatever shorthand it is the young'uns use these days.
I just went through Special:AllPages/Talk: and there's an unusually large number of pages in the talk namespace without their associated subject-namespace pages. Is there maybe a way to speed up the process of going through and deleting them without cluttering up the rest of RecentChanges?
Hi. Since it is a non-controversial act, I guess I could delete them using a bot flag to avoid flooding the recent changes. However, I am new as a sysop here and have never used the bot flag. So, I would feel more comfortable if you ask this same question to a more experienced sysop. If s/he agreeds I would surely delete these pages. Regards.” TeleS (T M @ C G) 00:47, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
I'm going to drop the bot flag on you. :)
Teles, you now have the bot flag. When you're done, go to Special:UserRights, and unbot yourself, please.
Thank you, Philippe :)
I only deleted pages that apparently had no use. A few talk pages didn't have an associated page but were transcluded on other discussions or were used as archives, so were not deleted. Here is the log. Regards.
