Summary

This suggests options for supplying searches and information still not available on the internet.

Proposal

That every effort is made to fill the gap between text and sound and image searching

Motivation

Sometimes you remember a song, a sound, an image. But can you search for that online without knowing text? Not easily. It is something the internet cannot yet do.

Key Questions

How can sounds be recorded and indexed ? How can images be indexed especially from films? Can it be possible to input bars of music via one's pc which the internet can then search for a match to? This goes for classic music too. Will copyright be involved?

Potential Costs

Unknown, depends on volunteers or experts and who can be employed to undertake the task. Likely to recruit enthusiasts of different genres. For example, heavy metal enthusiasts who can put together first bars of songs.
