Proposal talk:To diversify participation and create high quality content we should use amateur resources

From Strategic Planning

I can't understand what is proposed here. Nemo 10:57, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As I understand it, the proposal is to attract new editors by reaching out to amateur societies and clubs who already maintain content on their own websites. The problem with this, as I see it, is that this could encourage groups of users whose offline collaboration would be hidden from other users, leading to the possibility of !votestacking/meatpuppetry in the more controversial areas of wikipedia. On the other hand, reaching out to illustrators, photographers and musicians might yield a lot of useful free images and other media for commons. - 217.35.98.41 11:09, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Impact?

Some proposals will have massive impact on end-users, including non-editors. Some will have minimal impact. What will be the impact of this proposal on our end-users? -- Philippe 00:17, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
