  • For CN banners, how do we handle interface language preference vs language project for displaying banner? (Kaldari)
    • Content Language (the language of the project) is targeted in the campaign settings. You can target a campaign to 1 or more content languages. This means that it will show up for every person on that wiki. What language the banner shows up in depends on the interface language of the user. The interface language translations are set up in the banner editing interface. If a banner is not translated into the user's interface language, it is displayed in the fall-back language, with English being the final fallback. Does that answer the question? • Can we handle GeoIP targeted banner display for a given language project (eg display banner on fr.wikipedia for a user viewing from algeria but not from france)? (Kaldari)
    • Yes, if you turn on geotargeting for a campaign, the banners in that campaign are only shown in the countries targeted. The other targeting settings still apply as well (for content language and project type). Kaldari 00:43, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
  • Can we easily retrieve the country of origin and pass it on to LimeSurvey from CN/GeoIP? (Kaldari)
    • Yes, this is easy and commonly done. Kaldari 00:43, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
