Refactoring liquid threads

I'd like to refactor all lt's on my page. archive one, shrink and refactor another. It seems quite hard to do. Just getting access to the raw wikitext of a full thread seems almost forbidden. Thoughts?

And not to pick nits, but this lt is coming out "most recent at the top" which breaks the order of my talk page. Is this a setting ?

It isn't. But 'threaded discussion' does get its own section in my prefs. Sj
