From Strategic Planning

Are you suggesting something beyond an InterWikiLink? --Eekim 04:26, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think he's suggesting that "strategy:" be a namespace on all wikis. -- Philippe 05:06, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
What's the value of doing this? --Eekim 07:17, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, Philippe is right. "Strategy:" would be a namespace on all wikis and all changes on Strategy wiki should be visible from all other wikis. The value is that all users on all wikis would be able to watch on their wikis what is going on here. I think that that would increase participation a lot. --Millosh 12:22, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
For example, I would see in the RecentChanges at sr.wikinews that this page has been changes through the virtual page "Strategy:Talk:Proposals/Incorporate Strategy planning wiki into other Wikimedia wikis". When I click on that page, I should get this page, on this wiki. --Millosh 12:24, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This isn't really technically feasible right now. We can't share namespaces cross-projects (Files are a notable exception, but that's a specific use-case and can't be extended for this). You'd spend more time developing software for this that would be better spent actually working on strategy planning :) ^demon 13:57, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for info. And you are right about it. --Millosh 02:51, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Technical Proposal?

Millosh, perhaps it would be good to either rewrite this proposal or submit a second proposal suggesting the technical capability that ^demon pointed out we don't already have. There might be other benefits beyond strategic planning of having this capability as well. --Eekim 17:51, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I'll write a technical proposal for the future development because such possibility is needed. I'll move this one into my name space. --Millosh 02:51, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
