Strongly oppose

Those rules are designed to help editors to produce better articles. Removing them will reduce conflict but will also reduce quality.

Quality articles is our number 1 priority. Anything that affects that should be opposed and if that leads to conflict then I'm glad there are editors here willing to fight for quality.

Agreed. We're here to build an encyclopedia, not prevent conflict. Doing the latter is critical, but secondary, and any changes to the rules in the interest of making things go more smoothly cannot permit the primary goal to be lost.

While we agreed to contribute to the writing of an encyclopedia we never agreed on its contents. The line has to be draw somewhere. Rules reflect that line.
