The opening exercise surprises me, it is so vague, so abstract. In general it is very, very hard to get peoples attention and interest in such an intangible and abstract thing like strategic planning. Some people immediately ask me 'strategic planning' what is that about - I'm busy editing Wikipedia. I can't grasp why an exercise asking them to imagine something they can't imagine will be helpful.
