I'm Thomas de Souza Buckup and I live in São Paulo, Brazil, where I'm involved with the local chapter of the Wikimedia Foundation. We have been working as a decentralized movement of autonomous wikimedia volunteers promoting free knowledge and collaboration throughout Brazil.

I feel strongly committed to the strategy planning process because it really empowers the movement to support Wikimedia projects in a more strategic level. I'm a member of the Reader Conversion Task Force and together with many other Brazilian volunteers I'm organizing two unconferences in November in São Paulo to attract and engage users and educators to collaborate with wikimedia volunteers to develop ideas for the strategic planning.
