    Summary

A wish that MOST Wikipedians would like to see: Allow original research on a peer by peer basis.

Not all original research is bad. It attracts more contributors to make Wikipedia better (make sure to keep an eye out for spammers though). If NOR is kept, Wikipedia will become just a directory of sources.

The Noticeboard subpage makes Wikipedia become a dictatorship government because even a little bit of "original research" is reverted.

    Proposal

Remove the WP:NOR policy and update the verifiability policy to allow this to happen. Also, remove the Noticeboard subpage from the NOR policy page.

    Motivation

If you see the associated talk page, you will see complaints about this policy.

    Key Questions

    • Does the majority agree?
    • What shall we do to convince Jimmy Wales and the other members of Wikimedia to do this?
    • Why was the policy created in the first place?

    Potential Costs

    • Possibly more servers/storage space
    • Nothing else
