Summary

Since financing is a problem, it is suggested that those interested in providing Articles might pay annual dues as "Contributing Editors". Much depends on the amount of funds needed. But this might be a way of avoiding the advertizing suggested.

Proposal

Many Editors enjoy writing Articles. If the amount of funds needed is not to onerous, then asking each Editor submitting Articles to pay annual dues would provide needed funds.

Motivation

To avoid the nasty intrusion of adversing into Wikipedia which would change the nature of the operation and how Wikipedia is viewed.

Key Questions

A) How much funding is needed. B) How much would be requested from each Editor. C) Whether the amount needed is an amount most Editors would consider possible.

Potential Costs

This would help finances and reverse the cost problem.
