Summary

When I think about the task of making human knowledge generally available, I immediately become aware of a problem. I realise that most people's knowledge was gained through the experience they made, for which you do not provide a storage platform for the dissemination of this knowledge.

In my example, I would like to use a spade as an analogy. Many people have surely used one, but hardly anyone could make one themselves. Herein lies the problem. Not many people know how to make a spade, and under certain circumstances, they may no longer exist. Let's take for example an engineer who 30 years ago designed and built a press for constructing spades, and this press was so robust that it is still making spades. How, then, will we make new spades if we have to start over? Where can I read about what the best wood is to use for the handle? How is it made? if it is made on a lathe, how are the bolts made that prevent the nutsthat hold the lathe together from becoming undone?

I would like a platform that describes these processes that create the things that surround us everyday, but about which we do not know how they get made.
