Summary

Define intermediate levels where JavaServer Pages can be used to generate templates.

Proposal

One could try to define one or several intermediate levels or access levels (for users with different levels of programming skills, e.g. "may use JSPs in templates but not modify JSP generating code") and allow to employ JavaServer Pages to generate code for templates. The Java sandbox can be used to deny certain programming constructs and can very reliably deny access to certain resources.

Simple Java code could be written as BeanShell "Wikipedia Beans", for instance in templates.

Motivation

  • More dynamic generation of template content
  • Possibly quite useful as toolserver.
