Summary

Wikipedia should work to mobilize senior citisens in a way similar to how it engages students (if not more).

Proposal

The idea is to inform retirees about the existance and inner workings of wikipedia. Many seniors have a great deal of knowladge and time on their hands as well as willingness to learn new things. It seems like an ideal match.

Motivation

Beyond tapping what seems to be a currently wiki-passive segment of the population, this would also give a number of people one more option on how to maintain the knowledge that they remain productive members of society and retain the benefits thereof.

Key Questions

How to go about this?

*The model of the Wikipedia Campus Ambassador could be copied or adapted for this environment.
*Before such a model is established, outreech events in retiree comunities may prove effective (think piramide scheem party, but not evil)
