Currently, when one types in "wikipedia.org", it leads to a fancy, but comparably boring page with a search bar at the bottom and links to other languages.
I think it would be better if "wikipedia.org" were to redirect to the Wikipedia Main Page. The Main Page is more interesting and captivating as it yields more information and links. It also has more links to other languages.
Well, why not? I think this would be more usable and more interesting to the Wikipedia readers.
- Will this make people more or less interested in Wikipedia?
- Will it make Wikipedia more or less usable?
- Which language Main Page to direct to?
Not really anything. Just reprogram it to lead to the actual, real Main Page.
