Summary

A rating system that protect young children from harmful articles on Wikipedia that he is not old or mature enough to understand

Create a rating system and have the parent of the young user (with the registered account) block out article above a certain rating.

Ratings

  • Family (G)
  • 8+ (PG)
  • 14+ (PG)
  • 18+ (R)

Motivation

We need young children to learn on Wikipedia but also to keep them safe

Key Questions

  • How do we protect our children from harmful articles about war, violence, crime, and other bad things in our world?
  • How can parents protect their minor children who have a registered account on Wikipedia?

Potential Costs

Time for the people to devise categories for the rating system and a blocking code to prevent children from seeing articles above a certain rating.
