Proposal talk:'Printer friendly' links for articles

From Strategic Planning

There is already a Printable Version link on the left sidebar under "Toolbox". So, this feature already exists. 128.211.192.75 18:36, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There should never be a need for a "printer friendly" link on any web page. The correct approach is to create a separate stylesheet applicaple to media="print", which hides all content that shouldn't get printed (navigation etc.) and possibly makes other adjustments. This style sheet will then automatically be used by the browser when printing, without any other interaction required by the user. --Latebird (talk) 22:02, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Impact?

Some proposals will have massive impact on end-users, including non-editors. Some will have minimal impact. What will be the impact of this proposal on our end-users? -- Philippe 00:03, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Given that this already exists, its impact is exactly zero. - 80.127.221.100 08:45, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
