Yet another sign that Wikipedia is undergoing growing pains. Evolution is difficult and full of pitfalls. Again: how can Wikepedia achieve the necessary legitimacy, and not abdicate fundamental values? I don't understand the connection between "back to the roots" & this demand to lessen the restrictions on editting. (Personally, I believe the ethos in which Wikipedia/Wikimedia is rooted encompasses far more than "anyone can edit".) -- Llywrch 17:28, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Impact?
