Dear Philippe,
I've been for 6 years the architect-coordinator and a leading graphist & mapmaker of the +6 Graphic Labs and about one hundred graphists, who edited or created more than 10.000 images and +3.000 maps for wikipedia over the last 6 years. I'm now returning to active involvement, coordination, and R&D for images edition on wikipedia. My interest for graphics start with the following fact: articles are made of both textual and graphic contents. But I'm quite stuck to see there is no graphic team pushing for graphic innovation neither at the WM level, nor at the strategic wiki level. On the other hand, there are some tremendous visions and opportunities open to us on the graphic, SVG and mapmaking sides. The capabilities of SVG are underused, a web 2.0 online collaborative GIS mapmaking is need and possible (Sharemap.org : the webmaster is willing to collaborate), images should not be duplicated for translations, but multi-linguistic layers should be used with online translation, thus easing our work on commons and enlarging WM's reach, etc.
These directions and others are several heavy projects specific to the graphic edition side that I overviewed for this last 6 years. Also, Briana Laugher advised me to contact you for supports. I'm indeed interested to know : To push SVG, maps & graphic innovation :
- can the wikimedia foundation actively support these projects ?
- how ?
- a call to developpers to support the initiative (effective ?)
- some founding.
- the OSM-Wikipedia collaboration got 15.000US$
- Are the 20.000US$ of the Greenspun project explicitly donated to improve SVG still available
- and who should I contact to find solid supports/funding to push these innovations ?
Hoping your support for this graphic side of wikipedia, Regards,
-- User:Yug Management, Chinese, Graphism ——please reply en:user talk:Yug
I noticed your comment on another proposal. You seem interested in ideas: I would be very curious to hear what you have to say about Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Sticky notes.
Thanks for your Welcome message Phillipe, your talk page is well organized, can you help me putting the similar template used to Start a new discussion with a dropdown for sorting order in Odia Wiki? --Psubhashish 05:40, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Pshbhashish, thanks, I'm glad you like it.
What makes that work is the LiquidThreads extension. You can request that it be installed using http://bugzilla.wikimedia.org. :)

I have created a new welcome template at Template:Welcome-translation to thank users that has helped out in translating the pages here. It has a link to this page though, hope you don't mind about that. :)
Regarding your reply on my talk page, I don't quite understand what you were trying to say, can you explain it a little. Sorry for the trouble. :)
Hey! Thank you. Nice hearing that. Please, also tell me if some day in the future I do anything wrong and I will fix it. Have a nice day.
By the way, I was talking to Hydriz on IRC today about the template {{Warning}}. We both agreed that there should exist at least another template a little bit more soft for the first edit of an user. He said we should talk to you first, so I'm here. In my opinion, we should avoid using the word "disruption" and "blocked" at first sight. More correct would be pointing to the sister projects and continue with the tone of the first line that says "thanks" and explains clearly that the user has done something wrong. If this more soft message don't be enough to stop the user, then we can change it for a more severe as a second (and maybe final or other can be created) warning. What do you think?
I think it's great... maybe call it "SoftWarn" or something?
Besides this, we need to get translations for these warning templates so that a wider audience can be reached. Should we add this translation request on Meta?
I have created {{SoftWarn}}. Please, do any change you believe to be necessary.
Hi Philippe, in lieu of the discussion about the warning template, I would like to request for import rights so that I can import these templates from Wikipedia, thanks!
I would prefer not to ... not because I don't think you can use the import tool - I think you'll do fine - but because i think Wikipedia templates are almost uniformly poorly written. They work for Wikipedia but nowhere else. (And even that is arguable).
I think it's better to locally develop templates.
Disregard this request; it seems that Diego Grez has already promoted me.
The page Task force should have a hyperlink in the sidebar (between the wikimedia-pedia hyperlink and our process hyperlink). because:
- It is a really important page. more than site map.
- Different task forces are mentioned everywhere both in the articles and in the site-map
- But no page contains this link. it took me a quarter to find it. Before that I was struggling for two hour to find out what a task force is.
Thanks
you said in the village pump:
- Sue sent this out today, and asked me to invite contributors here to complete it... If you have trouble viewing or submitting this form, you can fill it out online: https://spreadsheets2.google.com/viewform?formkey=dHR2NU5OLUlNR3hCcFBrN3JLUU1YQXc6MA ...
Can you tell me what her account is? or can you tell her:
- Hi, Can you start this poll in en.wikipedia 's login-succsee page or on google forms, we need it for Editor Trends Study:
- Tell us in one word:
- what makes you feel best about en.wikipedia?
- what makes you think worst about en.wikipedia?
I'm not sure that using Sue's account is the best way to go about this, but I know that I'm probably not the best contact for it, given that I'm fully engaged in fundraising right now.
May I suggest that you contact Erik, the Deputy Director, for help determining the best course of action?
Hello, please remove my "bot user right", I try to edit my pages appear RecentChange, but not unexpected move by itself, sorry:)
See Process/Administrators/volunteers#New_Requests. Thank you.
Hey Philippe -- I think you posted James's chapters growth projection somewhere on this wiki, but I can't find it. Could you point me towards it? (No rush, I am assuming you are roasting a turkey right now :-) Thanks.
I can't find this neither, it should be linked from Wikimedia chapters.
This user currently has +sysop here, and has been found to a sockpuppet on ruwiki [1]. Additionally, you may want to take a look at m:Meta:Requests for adminship/Innv (removal). I will let you decided if action needs to be taken here. Cheers, Tiptoety 02:51, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
Thanks.
@Philippe
I fellowed up your desysop action and removed any element indicating adminship from his/her user page and also removed him/her from Process/Administrators.
Please have a look at Template talk:Welcome/es, thanks!
Just to point you at: Process/Administrators/volunteers
Thanks.
Why did you blank File:Crystal Clear action viewmag with a star.png and not delete it? (Deletion of a local page for a commons file doesn't delete the file...) - Hoo man 16:44, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
Can I blame jet lag?
Yes, you definitly can ;-) Hope you get some sleep soon - Hoo man 16:49, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
