Summary
Wikipedia could make better connections to academia who could integrate researches and summaries into it. Articles could be reviewed. This could be possible only if Wikipedia can be used as a working platform based on web2.
Proposal
Currently it is not preferred to cite Wiki as the resource as anyone can change the text and there is no content editor. Wiki can be made better if editing is replaced with list of reviewers that would be credited for such work.

Scientific reliability and accuracy of information.
Potential Costs
Programming costs + preparation for academic standards + curating/networking In addition grants to best student articles.
