Proposal talk:An animated series based on Wikipedia

From Strategic Planning

Wrong age range

Having checked on the examples in the proposal I see that this is proposing to promote Wikipedia to kids under 7. I really don't think we should be targetting the under 7s for an uncensored encyclopaedia that has detail on just about every adult subject one could imagine along with a host of stuff normally intended for over 7s, preteens and teens. Promoting a screened kids safe encyclopaedia would be a very different thing, and I can see a case for creating kids versions of wikipedia, But there would have to be multiple kids versions. I recently wrote an article that mentioned someone's suicide. I did not write that for under 7s, I'm not qualified to know at what age it is appropriate to refer to a suicide, but I do appreciate that different age ranges are ready for different material.
