Proposal talk:Make the editing of the articles easier

From Strategic Planning

This is an interesting proposal, I think. Wikicode represents a huge barrier to entry for people who are just entering the wikiworld. The creation of templates or wizards to guide the initial editing process (or, more likely, the initial page creation process) would be welcome. However, it would have to be accomplished in such a way as to still allow the more advanced users to directly modify a page without any trouble. That means that the GUI (template, wizard, or whatever system was eventually implemented) would have to use properly formated wikicode, and wouldn't make it impossible or difficult for advanced users to edit. A number of times I have wanted to get more involved but have been scared straight by all the technical stuff.--Rahrfk 19:51, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
