Proposal talk:Mention Wikipedia on PBS Kids Go television shows

From Strategic Planning

Impact?

Most PBS Kids and PBS Kids Go television shows tell kids to check out their local library. But most children are not within easy walking/cycling/bus distance from their local library. By having kids check out Wikipedia instead (with their parents' permission of course), they get to save gas and the environment as the same time. GVnayR 02:45, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Libraries

Why would you want to persuade kids that Wikipedia is better than the library? Libraries are fantastic places that provide free works of fiction, and teach you how to use Encyclopedias. --Alchemist Jack 16:49, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Libraries are old-fashioned institutions that don't cut the mustard in an age of digital knowledge, You Tube, and Wikipedia (of course). For the price of your Internet access, the library comes home to you on Wikipedia. Besides, you save gasoline by using Wikipedia instead of driving to the local library. Some libraries are better than wikipedia, you walk to libraries thus good for people and the environment, some do know the age of digital knowledge, and exercise is good too. ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 21:52, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
