Amend proposal to include interoperability between RTL and LTR languages

While I fully understand and support that RTL languages need better support, I think we should also focus this on generally enhancing the support for both directions. When I am editing on an RTL project, I set my language preference to an LTR language. This works fine for the sinle strings, but it does not make the interface look like an LTR interface (logo in top left corner). The site itself still looks like an RTL site which makes it hard for LTR contributors to find the buttons they need. IMHO support for switching the interface between LTR and RTL should be improved so that everyone can see the project how he desires. Regards, --ChrisiPK 17:57, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Usability initiative?

From what I've heard, the usability initiative tries to fix some problems with the RTL user interface. Did you try using it? --Church of emacs 22:10, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

From what I've heard, the Google Summer of Code project of 2005 had no result. None of the code was implemented. Yes, I did use the UI software, I have contributed by finding two people who contributed the character set for two Indic languages. 08:35, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Impact?

Some proposals will have massive impact on end-users, including non-editors. Some will have minimal impact. What will be the impact of this proposal on our end-users? -- Philippe 00:16, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
