Proposal talk:Volunteer grant writing support

From Strategic Planning

Hasn't there already been a grants database search?

Can someone in the Office post a list of the grants which had seemed to be most attractive to the Foundation in the past? I can't imagine that there hasn't already been a search on a grants database. I imagine several other foundations, the National Institute of Health, the National Institute for Humanities, Japanese, Australian, and other countries' cultural funding agencies must be reasonable prospects. 99.60.0.22 05:54, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

why focus on money?

When you seek collaboration with 1000 GLAMs you are not writing grant requests to these organisations. You seek their collaboration, maybe their content but certainly not their money .... Jeez.. GerardM 11:43, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Many of them consider their copyrights their only salable assets, so they want assurances about backlinks, no? Asking for permissions is not at all unlike asking for money. 99.60.0.22 17:01, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Chapters should do this. So the question is how can chapters make their member do this. Maybe we can improve m:Best practices in building a content partnership with a cultural institution... Nemo 23:36, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's a great page, and doesn't require a local chapter to make it happen. Sj 01:31, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Support

I'd like to express support for the idea of distributing workload of the WMF's paperwork. :D Abyssal 17:37, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Impact?

Some proposals will have massive impact on end-users, including non-editors. Some will have minimal impact. What will be the impact of this proposal on our end-users? -- Philippe 00:18, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
