a need for translators/reviewers
Hi
First of all, sorry for the spelling, I'm french :-D
This page gives a list, and indicates a "level of progress". Either this is an indicator of the progression of the content of thoses pages, or the progression of page's translations. Which interpretation is the good one ? But this is not really the purpose of this talk.
Because, in fact, I only need a list of page's names (and link) and their french actual translation's state. Yet, I have to follow each entry, then to verify if this is already translated to french or not. nd this is quite boring.
Is there a way to summerize the information on traduction's state, on a per language basis ?
By the way, a more precise indication of the traduction's state could be quite usefull from my point of view : not yet translated, translated, translated and reviewed; these states can be highlighted quite simply (by two two-states indicators - one for translation, one for review -, or a three-states indicator (red, yellow, green for example)).
So, that's it. And if I can help to do this, well, tell it to me.

What is the main namespace for?
What is the main namespace for? How are "Strategic Planning:this and that" getting redirected and translated? Is the person moving all these pages moving their translations also? Where are the translation tables? --CQ 23:07, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- The main namespace is used for topics about the overall process. Things that are in Strategic Planning: are about processes or policies particular to this wiki. I don't know that we're moving much into the Strategic Planning: namespace, but when we do, we should also be taking any of the translations, yes. Make it easier?
I've seen Help us with translations! before and have a couple of times looked closely to see how it is done. It's beyond me complicated. If I could just see a text needing translating and immediately to the right or underneath a space for the translation, I'd be very happy to help. The setup is too difficult to figure out (for me and likely for others, too).
Perhaps there could be a two-phase setup. The translator does just that and someone else puts the text in the right place? --Hordaland 13:12, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Translation deleted
I will not translate again new articles from en.wiki to it.wiki 'cause in it.wiki administrators deleted some translated articles. I dont want to make a heavy job then see it deleted. --151.50.181.44 00:29, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

In fact it is the value assigned to wgSiteNotice (retreived from CentralNotice.js) which contains inavlid HTML : the first message that contained the default SitNotice was already embedded in a span element, but it has been extended with another message "Help us translate this notice" with a link that brings to this page. However, it was placed out of the existing span element, without an opening "span" tag, but with a closing "span" tag that matches nothing.
This causes the page to generate a runtime error, and so, the browser does into compatibility mode (with IE tricks) instead of strict XHTML (all Wikimedia sites then are no longer validating). This then breaks several stylesheets, and not all scripts are executed where they should... Could you correct the value assigned to wgNotice within CentralNotice.js ???
