I was more concerned about the offensive part of his comments, which is not related with the way he writes and is unnacceptable on a respectful discussion. And I do agree. That is exactly why he was blocked, because he was not able to rationally converse with other editors and thus exhausted the last of their patience. For what it's worth, I have RSI (although it is not debilitating), and see no reason for such shorthand to be necessary or more effective than your standard "txt talk" or whatever shorthand it is the young'uns use these days.
