Proposal talk:Launch 'My Wikipedia'
Users can already do this by creating sub-pages in their userspace. Or are you suggesting that there be a function that allows them to tag pages in the same way as with the watchlist, but allow the user to organise them as well? — Sasuke Sarutobi 17:33, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- I think he wants to create a wiki on his own. Install MediaWiki or create a wiki at wikia --Church of emacs 22:54, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- Sure, it sounds "that simple" - but not everyone can install Mediawiki. I'm fairly technically literate (shut up, all of you), and it took me a significant level of effort. It's just not easy of a solution.... and that's assuming that one has access to the core necessities (computer, and electricity?) -- Philippe 22:59, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- No, he does not want a wiki of his own. This idea has merit; most people's watchlist grows too big, and people may want to keep a closer watch on the articles they created or edited or just plain care about. Having a place to write comments, reviews etc, is rather like the functionality available on Amazon. Joey the Mango 20:12, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
- At present I have a user page her, one on Wikimedia, one on Wikipedia, they all have talk pages. It does seem daunting to manage these. I am sure there is a page somewhere which will explain in intricate detail how I can make it all simple and easy to navigate, but that is mot user (me) friendly. --Alchemist Jack 14:31, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- How would you feel if you were asked to pay a small fee as in Proposal:Charge for extra Userspace? --Alchemist Jack 19:45, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

Can we mark this as done?
On my userpage on en Wiki en:user:WereSpielChequers I have links to a lot of pages that interest me. Why go to the hassle of making a copy of an article when you can link and always have the latest version at the end of the link? But if you do want to link to a particular version or edit you can do that two - just link on the diff. Can we mark this as done now or have I missed something? WereSpielChequers 13:13, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'm happy to mark it as done, but I wonder if anyone has gotten in touch with the original creator of the proposal to make sure that s/he knows how to use user subpages? I haven't checked yet... but yes, I'll mark it as done. -- Philippe 19:35, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'll drop a message on their talkpage. WereSpielChequers 20:52, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks; I got distracted by something else and hadn't gotten there yet. Appreciate it! -- Philippe 21:25, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
- This can be done by subpages... but I'm guessing something more interactive & built into the GUI is what this person was aiming for. For that purpose (I can imagine a 'public watchlist' style link next to the regular watchlist?) this is not done. -- Phoebe 20:47, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
- If that's the case, let's reopen it. :) -- Philippe 20:50, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Impact?
Some proposals will have massive impact on end-users, including non-editors. Some will have minimal impact. What will be the impact of this proposal on our end-users? -- Philippe 00:12, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
