I've taken a swing at reorganizing the data from Where_should_Wikimedia_go? onto Knowledge base. The idea is that so much of the really good, juicy analysis is buried way deep in that series of links at Knowledge base. But I have to travel this week and won't have any more time to work on it. Could someone take that on? I've got the structure started, but the idea is to move everything forward so that it's easy to tell, at a glance, what's there. For stuff that's likely to be wanted other places, let's bite the bullet and put it on its own page and transclude it in, so that we can have it multiple places in chunks.

Thanks....

As a starting point, many of the Fact base pages need to be renamed. In particular:

  1. The "Reach/", "Quality/", and "Participation/" prefixes from most pages should be removed. We should be using categories, not title prefixes, especially since some of these pages fall into multiple categories.
  2. Some of the pages should be broken out into multiple pages.
  3. The appropriate links should be updated.

The goal here is to break out the information into smaller chunks and make the titles friendlier so that they are easier to find and link to. Once we do this, we can take a pass at creating a landing page to all of this information.

As an example, I just did the following:

The ultimate goal is to create a Wikimedia-pedia -- an encyclopedia of Wikimedia. Please help! This will really help make it easier to find and link to some of the great information on this wiki. Thanks!

I restored Reach/Wikimedia users for historical reason, to be able to compare old and new and reuse the alrady translations to other languages. I created a template Template:historical and applied it to it.

Thanks, HenkvD. I'll use Template:historical from now on.

Philippe and I have been moving forward with this Wikimedia-pedia concept. For example, Philippe renamed Reach/Regional Analysis/China to China, and we fixed a bunch of links. The next task there is to merge some of the new research/findings from Task force/China to this and similar pages. I copied some content from Task force/Financial Sustainability into financial sustainability, which has links to advertising, Mozilla Foundation, WordPress, and so forth.

Bodnotbod has done a great job of refactoring some of the content emerging from Task force/Community Health. For example, he created the page, social features.

See where we're going with this? Thoughts? Could folks help with this gardening effort? Thanks!
